About the event

How the event works

During the yarnalong period:

  1. Participants choose a for-pay design from one of our participating designers, and start making a project with it
  2. Participants share their project on social media
  3. Participants submit their finished project to be eligible for prizes
  4. Repeat as desired!

Of course, there's a lot more going on during the event than just participants making and sharing projects:

All these event-related things take place on a variety of different online platforms. The reason we do this is to accommodate people who wouldn't be able to participate if we were only doing things in one place.

This sometimes means that people get overwhelmed by all the event stuff that's happening - but you don't need to be! You don't have to monitor everything, everywhere!

The point is to join in the fun however works best for you. Pick where and how you want to play, and don't worry about hitting all the platforms.

Once we've assessed our volunteer staff for this year and decided which activities and platforms we're able to support, we'll be publishing information all about it on the website, so watch this space.
